Calling all HotC, TLSC - SC2 Fans!
Hello,
I wanted to get a thread going regarding potential interest in starting a TLSC/HotC scrimmage group. I know a few folks from HotC that I played the beta with for a little while, but wanted to know if there was anyone else out there from old HotC or even TLSC that would be interested in playing some SC2 in a competitive setting with some friends. Unfortunately the public chat rooms went out of style with SC2, otherwise I'd suggest that we simply meet up in game. If you're interested in joining a scrimmage group, please post in this thread and we'll figure out a way to get us all together. I'm not sure what kind of activity the forum has outside of HotC - most of you probably know me well enough to make the following introduction a bit hokey.... My name is John. I played SC1 competitively for about 9 months back in the latter stages of high school and have had an interest in the RTS genre that extends back to the original Warcraft. I played WC3 in college (not competitively) and have been waiting for SC2 for several years. I'd rate myself as an intermediate player at this point and I'm looking for beginners and intermediate players that want to play competitively on a flexible schedule. Let me know if you're interested! Thanks, John |

I need to get my laptop fixed, but I'll be getting SC2 soon-ish.
But my favorite RTS is Age of Empires from college - like the last time I played a RTS was 2003. BANGARANG. |

The char name thread will be started on the HotC forums (or, well it already has) for privacy sake at this point. This forum is still public domain and I wouldn't want RealIDs getting out here.

With SC2 out for about 3 weeks now I finally got my own copy, and am working through the campaign. I haven't seen a thread where people talk about the things that they especially like or dislike or thing are cool or troublesome. Does anyone have some feedback?
Personally, I am amazed at all the cutscene movies in this game. I think the original had like 4 or 5, didn't it? Seeing 2-4 short movie interactions between each mission is kind of cool, especially when I'm just playing a mission before bed and just want to cool down for a minute. I'm playing on hard and have been enjoying the campaign. The one snag I've hit was in the last battle I fought, the "Glorious en" battle where Raynor sees the vision of the galaxy going dark. I played that one four or five times before I wussed out and lowered the difficulty level. How did others fare with it? |

I finished the entire campaign on Hard and have been working on Brutal now. I am also trying to get all of the achievements for the campaign. lol
Overall, I am very pleased with the game. Basically, it is a very richly developed campaign and a pretty polished Multi-player. The Multi-player is pretty much a take on the original with enhancements. A lot like any other type of RTS game series works.

We should get all the old leet guys from the DoW div to rep TLSC in SC2, that'd be a sight to see.
